Good to see Halloween spirit somewhere. Most of the 800 block was shut down behind the shutters. Must be the general vibe. I'm thinking of selling out and moving. Most of my friends moved years ago. I thought they were bailing. They were right. This is a ghost town.

Don't know where you are from anonymous but we had more kids than any other year and we always get lots. We personally went through six boxes of treats before we had to shut down (just before the rain). The little ones started around 5:30 and the event went on well after 9:00 PM. Monmouth roadies were also giving out hot apple cider for the adults and several homes had some great displays. Maybe you were working the back door.

I agree with anonymous2... that was probably the best showing since I've been in the hood. I'm sure the weather played a big part of it. There's always those selfish individuals that don't get into the Halloween spirit but if you look closely, it's those same individuals that usually don't participate in most things unless it's free!! Kudos to MOM for the delish cider. Actually, I'm quite impressed with the fact that so many monmouth roadies that do not have kids, participate whole-hardedly!! Must be the little kids inside trying to break free!!

I agree with anonymous 2 & 3, that Monmouth Road was very active on Halloween! I had oodles of trick-or-treaters at my house on the 800 block. My neighbours a few doors down had their movie screen out again this year - their house was very, very decorated - they were out decorating until very late the night before. The over-all atmosphere was very festive and made me feel very proud to live on this block. P.S. Thanks to MOM for posting photos of some of the trick-or-treaters.

I have a couple of photos too which I wouldn't mind sharing - is there an email address I can send them to?

Cool photos - the street looks great and so do the kids!
