C.A.T.C.H.

Citizens At City Hall. Catchy concept huh? Actually it has a little more mass than that. It's solid footings are found here: http://www.hamiltoncatch.org/index.php It was concretized by Hamiltonians who care about the business of their city hall. It has become a standard reference for business professionals and citizens alike who require up to date information from and about their city hall and council. For politicians it offers safe balance. C.A.T.C.H. is a citizen's portal to open and transparent government.

It is a place where anyone who wants to know how City Council has voted on any agenda or issue can find it in a mouse stroke. It is a place where the essence of in-camera meetings is revealed. It is also a good news source where one can check the pulse of the voting population on any given issue. The website lists all committees and members such as http://www.hamiltoncatch.org/view_page.php?id=6 . It showcases all of the current hot button issues like "Aerotropolis" http://www.hamiltoncatch.org/view_article.php?id=615 , or heritage http://www.hamiltoncatch.org/view_article.php?id=336 . It is a site dedicated to teaching residents how to walk their way through the civic bureaucracy.

A reader sent the link in from Richmond Hill. Obviously someone who is watching Windsor from afar. Maybe it's time for Windsorites to C.A.T.C.H. on and establish such a solid footing.

What a great site. That's exactly what I envision Citizfaction to be in the near future. I'm going to be looking for some contributors to pitch in soon and help post the various committee reports, meetings etc.

Stay tuned!
