Windsor police are searching for a suspect after a 31-year-old cabbie was robbed at knifepoint early Thursday morning.
The Veteran Cab driver picked up a male passenger downtown around 1:20 a.m. and drove him to the area of Walker Road and Ontario Street.
When the taxi stopped the passenger brandished a knife and demanded money.
He fled west on Ontario with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a 25- to 30-year-old white male with dark hair, dark eyes, a moustache and a goatee. He stands six feet tall, weighs about 165 pounds and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a green T-shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Windsor police at 255-6700, ext. 4380, or Crime Stoppers at 258-TIPS.
