So why is the collective we buying lottery ticket "B" when the possible outcome is global catastrophy? Well, have you ever been offered a raffle ticket where the draw is a year or more away? Do you remember what went through your mind? Sure you do. No one wants to wait for the payoff. In the case of global warming, the payoff is to future generations. Long after the collective "we" are dead and gone, our children's children's children will be suffering the consequences of us buying ticket "B" today. The people who say screwit and drive that huge Ford Excursion to the Drive Thru and back know the payoff won't come in their lifetime and just don't care. If only people could be given a taste of what the future holds they might change their ways.
