CP GRADE SEPARATION ARRIVING EARLY?

Architechtural Rendering looking North from South Approach

Originally scheduled to be completed in 2009, the Walker Road/CP rail grade separation seems to be running ahead of schedule. Early completion date is July/August. Add pants and November is likely. Here is what the project looks like today:

LOOKING NORTH TO SOUTH

WITHOUT TRAIN

FROM TRACKS LOOKING SOUTH TO TECUMSEH ROAD

SHORING. POSSIBLY FOR "WINE RIVER" DIVERSION

LOOKING TOWARD TECUMSEH ROAD

NEW TRUSS WITH STEEL TRACK BED

NEW TRUSS NEXT TO CURRENT TRACKS ON RIGHT

LOOKING NORTH FROM SOUTH APPROACH

VIEW SOUTH TO TECUMSEH ROAD FROM DEAD CENTER

CURRENT TRACKS SOUTH OF NEW TRUSS

TONKA TOY. THERE'S TWO OF EM

A PAIR OF SHOVELS

Taking all bets. Before deadline, deadline or after deadline? July, August, September, November, December, 2009?

One and the same. I don't have a W on my chest for nothing.

I think it looks like Drouillard Rd and Wyandotte E. I still have not heard why they couldn't make the trains go UNDER Walker Rd.

It isn't on time as it was delayed from the start so I have to go with "not on time".

Dave...U R right. It looks like Drouillard and Wyandotte where there is an intersection underneath. In this case Grand Marais to Walker with a traffic light at the bottom. This might be dangerous. The problem in putting tracks underneath is that the whole rail grade from Howard and beyond to the west and probably to Central in the east would have to be lowered significantly. Very costly and tricky. Might also have something to do with the Grand Marais drainage ditch which runs beside it as well.

I say December.

I hope it is done early! It is such a nuiscance having to go to Central or Howard whenever I want to go down to Silver City, Best Buy, or any of those Walker Road stores.

Just a reminder to keep the flame wars at bay. Just manners. This posting takes the place of another which was deleted not because the comment was invalid. To an urbanist it was very valid. Calling another commenter an "idiot" was not called for and using someone elses handle was cowardly. If you are a real urbanist, you aren't helping your cause much.

Dear Mr. Mayor,

I've noted no new articles to ponder. Why is this? Rumor has it you've been paid off by the City of Windsor to lay low. Is this true? The other rumor, you are running a pyramid scheme selling recycled manure. Please respond...
